We are excited to introduce the COOL project, an initiative funded by the European Union that aims to create open learning spaces for disadvantaged learners. Our goal is to provide easier access to lifelong and civic learning, offering a more appropriate and inclusive learning experience.

In a world full of challenges, it is essential to empower every individual to seize their potential and opportunities. Unfortunately, certain groups face disadvantages in accessing quality education. The COOL project is determined to break down these barriers and create a level playing field for all learners.
The COOL Exhibition: Showcasing Best Practices
One of our first significant achievements is the COOL Exhibition, a growing virtual, multimedia compendium. This unique platform curates the best practices of existing open learning approaches and spaces on three levels:
- Real Life Hubs: We identify physical spaces that foster open learning and support community engagement.
- Virtual Open Learning Spaces: Embracing the digital age, we explore virtual environments that enhance the learning experience.
- Mobile Learning Environments: We also recognize the power of mobile technology in extending learning opportunities beyond conventional settings.
Partnership and Collaboration
The COOL project has brought together an exceptional team of organizations from across Europe. Working collaboratively, we have intensively studied and collected examples of good practices in open learning. During the COOL Exhibition, these artifacts were presented, enabling us to learn from each other and expand our perspectives.
Digitalization for Progress
As we embrace the digital era, we recognize the importance of digitalization in education. BUPNET, our digitalization expert, is currently setting up the structure of the database for the virtual exhibition. This technological advancement will enhance accessibility and facilitate a richer learning experience for all participants.
Areas of Focus
COOL addresses various critical issues that impact our societies, including migration, climate change, and social cohesion. By tackling these challenges through open learning spaces, we hope to foster innovation, understanding, and collaboration.
