First Partner Meeting in Palermo – Building the UPSPACE Team Spirit

In December, the city of Palermo was the venue for our first UPSPACE Partner Meeting – a momentous occasion that set the tone for our journey towards a more sustainable future. UPSPACE is dedicated to integrating green skills into school curricula and promoting urban regeneration as a pathway to sustainable communities. This meeting was our first real step towards making this vision a reality.

We were delighted to meet our European partners from across Europe, each bringing unique expertise and a shared passion for sustainability:

  • blinc eG (Germany): blinc eG is at the forefront of developing our innovative Upcycling Workshop Booklet and Urban Regeneration Lab Guidelines.

  • RUZ: Working closely with blinc eG, RUZ will support the implementation of hands-on activities at national level.

  • CESIE, Stimmuli and Appworks: These partners are instrumental in recruiting and subcontracting sustainability experts to ensure that our workshops and labs are led by experienced professionals.

  • Educational Institutions: We’re proud to collaborate with key schools and organisations, including ISEP, Mihailo Petrović Alas 5th Gymnasium of Thessaloniki, and Förderverein RUZ Reinhausen, which will host the hands-on activities and serve as hubs for our green initiatives.

The Palermo meeting wasn’t just about planning – it was the start of collaboration and shared vision. The energy, creativity and commitment seen in Palermo have already laid a solid foundation for UPSPACE. As we move forward, it is this strong partnership and shared enthusiasm that will be the key to turning our ideas into impactful projects in the real world.

Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to a greener, more sustainable future!
